Woman discovers her husband of 17 years is her cousin after having three kids together
A woman was left in complete and utter shock after discovering her husband and father of her three children is also her cousin.
Celina and Joseph Quinones, from Colorado, had been a happily married couple for almost two decades but they had no idea they were blood related.
The mum-of-three made a shocking discovery when she decided to delve deeper into her family lineage by taking a family tree DNA test.

Celina broke the news on TikTok about finding out she’s related to her husband as well as how the revelation made her feel.
“Married my husband in 2006. Not thinking anything of it we had three kids. Come to find out we were related and cousins,” she said in the clip which has accumulated more than four million views since it was uploaded earlier this month.
In the viral clip, Celina included a screenshot of the husband and wife’s shared ancestry results which suggests that they are a match of 62 cM, or centimorgan - a unit for measuring genetic linkage. Celina said indicates they share an ancestor eight generations back.
Celina, who has also written a book about her family life, said the moment she discovered her husband was more than just her spouse was ‘devastating’ but their love for each other is stronger than ever.
Despite calls from social media critics for the couple to divorce since romantic relationships between family members are usually frowned upon, Celina and Joseph seem to be stronger than ever.
She explained: “This was three kids in that I found out we were related. I did my DNA test I think in 2016 and yeah it was devastating because I was like ‘babe we're related are we even supposed to be together? This is weird’.
"It really freaked me out.”
After the initial shock, she didn’t question her marriage and decided she wouldn’t let the fact that they’re cousins stop them from being together.
"I wouldn't change it for the world. Cousband and wife for life! There is a reason why good couples look alike. I am just over here raising awareness.”
In another video she said she wouldn’t be surprised if more couples are unknowingly related in Colorado and urged people to do a DNA test just in case.
"Colorado seems so big, it's really not that big,” she said. Everyone knows everyone and most likely everyone is related.
"Do a DNA test if you don't want to marry your cousin on accident! Lol. Just my luck. Now even if we separate we stuck for life because we family now," she said.
“I love my cousin,” she declared in a follow-up clip, “and I wouldn’t [have] it any other way that I married on accident.”
