TikTok has taught us more than our schools ever have, with the video sharing platform showing us new ways to cook, apply make-up and even how to catch out a cheating partner.

But the app has also shown us vital ways to protect ourselves, like this blind ‘hack’ right here.

You can watch the video below.

Carpenter @texascarpneter took to social media to share why it’s always important to close your blinds pointing upwards.

The video quickly went viral on TikTok, having amassed 6.6 million views on the platform.

And people were shocked that they have been closing their blinds wrong all this time.

One grateful viewer simply commented: “THANK YOU!” in response to the video.”

“Thank you, I did not think of this!” added another.

“I just, got up, fixed my blinds, feel violated, and thank you sir,” said a third, while a fourth said: “Well all I can say is the neighbour must get a good show …must remember to change them tonight.”

Other Smart Alecks in the comments offered an alternative solution for people having blind woes.

“That’s why you use curtains,” snarked one viewer.

“I have blackout tints and curtains,” admitted another.

“Or just buy curtains and close them at night?” said a third.

Well, we’re glad we’ve learned this nifty blind trick!

In other life hack news, people who are struggling with insomnia have been thrilled to find a new way to ease them off to the land of nod.
