A psychic medium has divided opinions after sharing the ritual she follows before she drinks alcohol to avoid a hangover.

Nicolle Merrilyne, who describes herself as a healer and 'spiritual mentor', took to TikTok to outline her top tips for waking up feeling fresh as a daisy after a few drinks - but was met with very mixed reviews.

Check out the bizarre video here:

Explaining the method behind her madness, Nicolle pointed out that alcohol 'loosens your energetic boundaries and opens your crown chakra, making you more susceptible to negative entities.'

She continued: "This is why sometimes people act like a totally different person when they drink or feel like something took over them."

The popular psychic then went on to detail the three-step strategy that she follows to avoid absorbing these 'negative entities' on the rare occasion that she decides to drink.

Nicolle's first step for success is place a 'protective shield or rose' around her aura.

If you were wondering what exactly that entails, the TikTok creator made a follow-up video to break it down for her followers.

Nicolle makes sure to 'ground' her drink, to remove all 'negative energy' from it. To do this, she visualises "a grounding cord growing out from the bottom of [her] drink all the way down to the core of the earth.

"From there I'll bring three gold suns - a psychic tool - through the top of the drink and out through the grounding cord.

"I set the intention of the gold suns to clear out any energy that is not my own or of my highest and greatest good."

If you're following so far, then hats off to you.

Finally, Nicolle will 'set the intention for drinking and send it into the drink while stirring three times to the left'.

She explained: "I send the intention into the drink and stir counter clockwise to banish anything that's not connected to my intention."

The psychic medium claims that this was all it took for her to avoid a groggy hangover, but viewers were divided over the peculiar video.

Of course, there is no scientific backing behind Nicolle's ritual, but some followers who claim to have tried it out for themselves were on-hand in the comment section to vouch for her.

One impressed viewer commented: "You know what’s crazy? I started doing this when I consume and alcohol and honestly it’s so different!"

"This is so amazing", raved a second, while a third wrote: "I do this too! I’ve learned this year how important protection is."

Bewildered by Nicolle's video, one confused TikToker asked: "Is this a joke??"

"This isn’t satire?" a second wondered.

Others pointed out that if someone was so concerned about the 'negative entities' that are in alcohol, surely the most effective strategy would be to stop drinking altogether.

"I feel like if you have to do this to protect from negative entities... you probably shouldn’t drink at all and find an alcohol alternative" suggested one viewer.

Another pointed out: "Or just don't drink anymore. Have a mocktail!"
