Cotton Candy Cake Is The Adorable New Recipe To Try

The category is: unicorn food.

Cotton Candy cakes are the internet's new favourite sweet treat, and I have to admit they look absolutely magical!

Made entirely of candy floss, these cakes are a guaranteed crowd-pleaser and - bonus - super easy to decorate.

To see how to make these multi-coloured creations are made, check out this video:

After spotting the trending recipe on TikTok, one user aptly put it: "Rainbow Cake❌ Rainbow Pancake❌ Rainbow Cotton Candy Cake✅ Unicorn Sugar Rush✅."

Yep, that pretty much sums it up!

Others are obsessed with the clever cake idea, and are dying to try it out for themselves.

One TikToker commented: "this is such a cute and genius idea! 🥰."

A second added: "so cutee i need this."

"I will be so disappointed if this isn't my next birthday cake😂😂" wrote a third.

You can make your own cotton candy creation, with no oven required! But you will need one rather uncommon kitchen appliance - a candy floss maker.

Should have guessed, really.

If you're lucky enough to have a candy floss maker tucked away in the cupboard, in the attic, or out in the shed, then it's definitely worth breaking it out, giving it a wipe-down, and trying your hand at this sugary treat!

First, decide how many cake layers you want. For every layer, you'll need a different colour and flavour of cotton candy.

Every time you spin a new cone of candy floss, all you need to do is press it down into your cake tin, making sure that it's packed tight and secure.

When all of your layers are piled on top of each other, let your cotton candy cake form its shape in the tin, then tip it out gently.

Finally, the decorating can begin!

We've seen people use edible glitter, icing, birthday candles, and sprinkles to decorate their cakes - so feel free to get creative here.

When it's time to serve, make sure to handle your cake gently, and when you're carving up slices for your guests, it's best to use a dry knife - water dissolves candy floss.

After that, feel free to dig in and enjoy the sugar rush!
