We're just under week away from Christmas Day and you know what that means...
Yep, cosying up on the sofa in your jammies watching and re-watching all your favourite festive flicks with The Holiday being at the top of many people's lists.
The 2006 hit rom-com boasted a heavily star-studded cast featuring Cameron Diaz, who plays an anti-relationship workaholic called Amanda from the US, alongside the ever-darling Kate Winslet as Iris, a mild-mannered society columnist for the Daily Telegraph in London who is in love with her boss.
Now, both women decide to spontaneously swap homes in an attempt to pull them out of their respective funks.
Iris moves into Amanda's massive mansion in California, while Amanda crosses over the pond to live in Iris's English cottage in Surrey and it doesn't take long for Amanda to fall for Iris' widowed older brother, Graham (played by Jude Law), while Iris finds an unlikely romance with a hilarious film composer called Miles (Jack Black).
Despite being nearly two decades old, the Nancy Meyers fan-favourite has clearly stood the test of time with a dedicated fanbase eager to whack it on every December.
However, such fans have been left truly shocked after learning the true age of the actors behind the film's beloved characters.
Influencer Helen McPherson took to Instagram to ask 'elder Millennials' to guess the age of the cast at the time of filming, while giving her own plot rundown, starting off with Winslet's character.
Kate Winslet was 30 when she took on the role of Iris (Universal Pictures) "Bridget Jones energy," she began. "Bit past it, and a bit on the shelf, time was running out for her to get married, that's okay, she lives in a beautiful cottage in [Surrey].
"She's got a good job, she'll be fine, get a couple of cats."
McPherson then revealed that Winslet was just 30 at the time of filming, gushing: "She's a baby!"
Shen then moved over to Diaz's character.
Cameron Diaz was 34 at the time of filming (Universal Pictures) "[I'm] getting sexy, cougar-like vibes from her, she can't cry, doesn't think she's good in bed, but she's [probably] better than she thinks she is," the Instagrammer began, adding that Amanda had a 'banging' wardrobe and had 'massive' success in Hollywood."
"Lives in a [mansion], Desperate Housewives vibe except she's not married, [I thought she was in her] mid to late 40s. [But she is] 34!" she said in awe. "I didn't even have a frontal lobe at age 34."
Law's character was next, with McPherson dubbing him a 'napkin head' with 'Hugh Grant energy' who she thought was supposed to be late 40s in the story.
Jude Law was also 34 (Universal Pictures) "He was 34 [at the time of filming]," she said, adding, "Sorry, I was just sick in my mouth."
And last was Black's character, who she referred to as a 'wacky, funny guy'.
'[He's] not conventionally what you would go for, but you would grow to love him because of his personality," McPherson shared, revealing his age was 37 when he starred in the film.
"It's so disturbing to know that I'm older than he is, and I identify as his girlfriend," she resolved.
Jack Black was 37 (Universal Pictures) After watching McPherson's rundown, people could help but rush in to share their reactions as one social media user lamented: "No, no and no…how is that right…?!"
"As a 37-year-old teen mum, I've had to leave Surrey as I can't afford a postage stamp to live in, let alone a detached cottage! 30! No way!" hit out another.
And a final fan echoed: "Jude's character is pure fantasy, 30-something, £2m [Surrey] pad, 2 kids, widowed, house full of a lifetime of experience and furnishings.
"No wonder millennials don't feel like we've ever achieved anything!"
