Television fanatics are making a case for Netflix’s ‘brilliant’ thriller series.

Unfortunately, the streaming giant has drawn criticism recently for brutally binning off the likes of Shadow and Bone and comedy-drama Glamorous.

However, viewers have also taken to social media to praise the platform for the latest instalment of their Colombian telenovela, The Marked Heart.

You can watch the trailer for series one below:

The first series of the thriller-drama - which stars Michel Brown and Ana Lucía Domínguez - premiered in April 2022 while the second was released in April 2023.

However, many Netflix users are just getting around to feasting on the series now.

The show centres around Simón (Brown), a man whose wife Valeria (Margarita Muñoz) has been murdered by a crime syndicate. The reason? So that they can harvest her heart and transplant it into another person, of course.

As Simón spirals deeper into the world of organ trafficking he meets Camila (Domínguez) - the person who receives his wife’s heart - and her husband, Zacarías (Sebastián Martínez), who bankrolled the theft in the first place.

Fans are going wild for Netflix's thriller series, The Marked Heart.

The thriller is the brainchild of Venezuelan screenwriter and author Leonardo Padrón and has been directed by Camilo Vega.

Due to its wild love triangle and constant high-stakes situations, the show has won fans across the globe and has been highly praised by social media users.

One The Marked Heart viewer said: “Anyone that hasn't watched The Marked Heart should, (sic) it’s brilliant on Netflix.”

A second said: “The Marked Heart on Netflix got me in a chokehold.”

“The Marked Heart on Netflix is a 10/10 series bmt!! I never knew Telenovelas could be so so good!! One of the best endings you’ll ever see!! Proper TV,” added a third.

Series one and two of the show are available to stream on the platform now.

Another said: “I suggest everyone go watch The Marked Heart on Netflix.

“I just finished watching the (sic) two part series, with 24 episodes total! I have an entire different outlook about organ trafficking and organ donors."

Elsewhere, one Facebook user wrote: “The Marked Heart will have you tuned it definitely a 10/10 !! Whew.”

Someone else commented that the show was ‘one of the best’ on the streaming service, while another said that the two series’ were ‘excellent’.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the third season of the show, however, the streaming service has yet to announce whether it has been renewed.

You can stream the first two series of The Marked Heart on Netflix now.
