One Married At First Sight UK bride was left in tears after her mum revealed a surprising secret about the groom.

The first episode of season nine aired earlier this evening (16 September) on Channel 4 and we've already seen a whole bunch of typical MAFS UK antics as expected.

From finding out about Kristina's bizarre profession to the adorable stunt Kieran pulled following his fake teeth prank - it's clear that this season is shaping up to be a juicy one indeed.

Now, things all seemed to be going well for Kieran and his new bride, Kristina, following the wedding.

The pair seemingly also enjoyed themselves at the wedding reception, which saw the mechanic deciding to a sing an extremely peculiar tribute to his new wife in front of her entire family and friends.

However, tensions rose when Kieran revealed to Kristina's mum that he lived in a 'caravan in the woods', but wanted to keep that fact hidden from his new missus just a little longer - looking for the right time to tell her.

Going over his head, the mum decided to break the news to her daughter mere moments later.

Upon hearing the news, the animal reiki practitioner (yep that's a real job) buried her head in her hands seemingly looked mortified and bursting into tears.

This prompted many viewers to rush to social media to share their thoughts on the reaction with one X user writing: "I love Kieran’s caravan! Nothing to be ashamed of! #Mafsuk."

A second hit out: "What’s wrong with living in a caravan? Least he has a roof over his head #mafsuk."

And a third defended: "She's having a meltdown at the thought of living in a caravan.. can't say I blame her #MAFSUK."

Yet, viewers were soon in the know that all was well and the tears weren't tears of sadness but actually tears of joy as Kristina revealed she found her hubby's living situation a total green flag.

"Well done with the editing cos that made out she was going to be upset about him living in a caravan #MAFSUK," praised a fourth viewer.

And a final X user then added: "Wait she loves the caravan!? That edit was sublime #MAFSUK."

The latest season of Married at First Sight UK premiered on E4 tonight (16 September) and will air every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9pm on E4.
