Despite the success that the original Joker movie garnered back in 2019, the villainous blockbuster's sequel has reportedly left cinema-goers walking out, just days after the movie hit the silver screen.

Officially titled Joker: Folie à Deux, the cinema newbie is a continuation of the blood curdling events of the original Joaquin Phoenix movie.

Following the events of the first movie - which saw Phoenix murder several people, including talk show host Murray Franklin (Robert DeNiro), amid his battle with mental health - failed comedian Arthur Fleck is sent to Arkham State Hospital.

There, however - as well as attempting to come face-to-face with his blood-thirsty alter-ego - he falls in love with meets another patient, Harleen 'Lee' Quinzel, who (spoiler!) turns out to be his equally-insane sidekick Harley Quinn.

Without giving too much away, for those who still haven't caught a moment to sit through the lengthy film, the anti-hero flick has seemingly flopped when it comes to the ratings of viewers, with some even protesting the film's release.

Taking to TikTok, thousands of movie buffs expressed their disappointment, with many claiming they either saw fellow spectators walking out of the 2hr 18m-long flick, or ditched their cinema seat themselves.

"Guys, me and my wife are at the view, and we’re going to watch 'Joker 2' and the screening before us, everyone’s leaving," a social media user with the handle @optimalik explained.

"Like everyone is leaving early, it can’t be that bad, right? The reviews are not saying it’s bad, but everyone is leaving early. What the f–k is this?"

Later, the same user admitted that he had endured the full film and branded it 'garbage'.

"Don’t waste your time," he advised. What the f**k? Two hours I am never going to get back. Don’t f*****g waste your time."

He wasn't the only disgruntled TikToker who slammed the star-studded feature, however, after another implored her followers not to waste their money.

"I am so disappointed," @katebfitness explained in another video, before her boyfriend joined the debate, telling viewers: "If you’re expecting to go see the ‘Joker’ and see some action, you will not see any.

"It is basically a musical. It’s like watching 'Matilda' or some s**t."

It isn't just TikTok-users that have slammed the movie, however - many have also taken to Instagram to lash out at producers over the overdrawn flick.

"Watching this at theatre was legit torture," one wrote this week.

Another penned on the film's official account: "One of the worst movies I have ever seen."

"Hollywood just spat on our faces and we paid for it," a third jibed.
