Real reason I'm A Celeb star Jamie Lynn Spears quit the jungle

Real reason I'm A Celeb star Jamie Lynn Spears quit the jungle

Fans have been wondering what prompted her departure

We're only 11 episodes into this year's I'm A Celebrity and we've already had two shock departures from the show.

Earlier this week, Grace Dent left the series on medical grounds and, just yesterday (29 November) Jamie Lynn Spears followed suit and exited the jungle.

Since the bombshell revelation, many fans of the ITV reality show have been left wondering what was the 'real reason' that prompted her to quit.

Now, it's no secret that Jamie Lynn, who is Britney Spears' younger sister, has been having a tough time Down Under.

The 32-year-old mum-of-two previously left I’m A Celeb viewers fearing she may leave when she threatened to walk out on the series after claiming she had been finding it difficult being away from her kids, Maddie, 15, and five-year-old Ivey.

After dubbing the challenges as 'torture' and breaking down in tears, Jamie Lynn went on to declare 'I quit' while her fellow campers tried to comfort her.

Well, since then, the star has in fact stuck to her word and, as many fans expected, has finally quit the show - though it's not necessarily for the reason they may have thought.

ITV released an official statement on the matter yesterday, in which it announced: "Jamie Lynn Spears has left I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! on medical grounds.

"She's been a fantastic campmate who has triumphed at trials and bonded well with her fellow celebrities."

According to The Sun, the I'm A Celeb crew were on 'high alert' and Jamie Lynn was allegedly deemed a 'flight risk'.

The outlet reported: "We can now reveal that Jamie has been in exit talks with execs for days, with a number of high-level discussions involving ITV’s logistic teams and her own management behind the scenes.

"ITV bosses were able to support Jamie Lynn through 11 days on the show, as success in the Climb of Cruelty and Scarena Series buoyed her and delayed the inevitable."

She previously admitted she was struggling.

Ultimately, however, the homesick mama declared: "I hate it here so much, I hate it, I hate it, I hate it here.

"This place is where people go to have the worst days of their lives."

She left the camp in the early hours of Wednesday evening in Australia.

Wonder if we'll have any other shock departures from I'm A Celeb this season...

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! airs on ITV Sunday to Friday at 9pm and Saturday at 9.30pm.
