I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!'s Danny Jones has opened up about the moment campmates suffered a terrifying incident that viewers didn’t get to see.

ITV viewers watched on as Danny was crowned the King of the Jungle during Sunday's final (8 December), while Coleen Rooney got the runner-up spot before Reverend Richard Coles was named third.

The 38-year-old McFly singer was praised by fans following his candid admission surrounding his mental health, after he bravely opened up about his struggles with anxiety.

In the jungle, Danny explained to his fellow campmates that he's been in therapy since he was 19 to cope with anxiety, and reflected a pretty intense experience of having a panic attack on live TV during an interview.

He told his campmates: "I was freaking out and I couldn’t answer the question that got asked to me.

"My heart rate goes crazy, I went white, and I felt like I was going to puke."

Clearly overcome with emotion, Danny started put his head in his hands as he broke down in tears, prompting Tulisa to assure him: "It’s really good to let it out and it’s really brave to be vulnerable, people respect it."

Strictly star Oti Mabuse chimed in: "I think it’s really good that you keep saying people must talk, especially young boys."

Following his win, Danny opened up to The Mirror about one particularly jarring incident that took place during his time on the reality TV show.

Danny revealed the weather got so bad at times they had to be evacuated twice and take shelter in the Bush Telegraph.

"It was one of the hardest nights, we were all quite cramped and I think there were still 12 of us then as well, all boiling-hot in close proximity," he said.

"The rain also meant the leeches were searching for you and I was literally on leech check every day."

Tyla has reached out to ITV for comment.

Elsewhere in the interview, Danny discussed what it was like finally being reunited with his son, Cooper, and his wife, Georgia.

"I've never been away from Georgia or Cooper for that long," he shared. "Even on tour, we tend to come home at the weekends.

"But there was no contact for a month."

Georgia was clearly buzzing to see her hubby again, with Danny adding: "She told me how proud she was of me and I just cried and cried. It really kept me going after what had been a testing experience at times."
