Any Potterheads out there are in for a right treat as a brand-new TV series spin-off has been announced.

Now, while I'm sure die-hard fans of the beloved film franchise may be hesitant to the idea, you can't deny it's pretty exciting.

And, to make things even better, Harry Potter fans themselves have been granted the chance to star in the new HBO series and will only need to complete two tasks to do so.

Yep, fans of the movies have the opportunity to try-out for the three major roles; the titular Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and - of course - Hermione Granger.

The casting call for the adaptation, which will cover all seven Harry Potter books, also confirmed it will only be able to accept child applicants aged between nine to 11 in April 2025, and who are based in the UK or Ireland.

Now, the submissions deadline isn't until the end of next month (31 October) so you've got some time to prepare your application which need only consist of two short videos.

First video

The official Cast It Talent website, which has listed the call-out, asks applicants to prepare 'a short poem or story of your choosing'.

It can be from your favourite book, a poem that you love, a monologue from a play or something you’ve created yourself.

But, and this is to be avoided at all costs, steer clear from anything Harry Potter-related.

Casting directors also asked applicants to use their own accent and to keep the clip short and sweet at just 30 seconds.

Second video

The second video, capped at a length of one-minute maximum, needs to be a short video telling casting directors 'a bit about yourself, including your date of birth, height and where you live'.

"In addition," HBO asks: "Please describe any family member, friend or pet that you are particularly close to."

Following suit with the previous clip, you should also use your own accent again.

Sounds pretty simple, right?

HBO were also kind enough to share a list of pointers when it comes to recording the clips yourself.

The instructions outline that there should be no 'background noise' and that applicants should 'look as close to the camera as possible'.

Videos, which should be filmed landscape with the applicant's head and shoulders taking up the frame, should be recorded in a 'quiet, well-lit room against a plain, neutral background' with HBO adding: "Make sure we can see their face really clearly!"

Noted.

If that sounds like a bit of you, you can apply here.
