The Friends crew could never have predicted just how huge TVs would become

If you've watched every episode of Friends as many times as we have, it's not unusual to spot the odd blunder here and there.

After all, the show is 20 years old this year, and technology has of course, come a long way since then.

Plus, it's Friends, so any mistake big or small still doesn't take away from the iconic show that it will always be.

And it certainly doesn't stop Brits still being utterly obsessed with the US sitcom, which has truly stood the test of time.

From watching it every Friday night when it first started, to now binge-watching all seasons over on Netflix, the way we watch the show might have changed, but it still gives us those nostalgic feels.

And as more and more people are tuning in to watch Friends, viewers have started spotting tiny mistakes that you might not have noticed before.

Over on TikTok, one fan pointed out a 'plot hole' in the show, which probably wouldn't be there if you were watching on an older TV - aka the type that were around when the show aired.

During a season 10 episode, 'The One After Joey and Rachel Kiss', TikTok user, Riley - aka @rileysoley - pointed out a mistake that probably wouldn't have been there back in the day.

"I love when you can tell something was shot with a camera that had no intention of ever being put on a widescreen TV," Riley said.

"I'm watching Friends, and look at this," she added, pointing to the wall next to Joey.

"Look at that giant hole in the side of Joey and Chandler's apartment!"

In the video, a huge square hole can be seen in the wall, which we imagine must have been something to do with the crew's camera equipment.

To be fair, the team could never have realised just how huge TVs would become in the future.

In other Friends trivia, we recently told you how one director, James Burrows, has explained why one of the show's most memorable guest stars was, in his opinion, difficult to work with.

Opening up about what it was like on set in his 2022 memoir, Directed by James Burrows, he recalled of the episode 'The One with All the Rugby'.

Speaking of Helen Baxendale - who played Ross' wife Emily - he said: "She was nice but not particularly funny. Schwimmer had no one to bounce off. It was like clapping with one hand."

He continued: "In sitcoms and any type of romantic comedy, the funny is just as important as the chemistry. We discovered that any new girlfriend for Ross needed to be as funny as Rachel.

"Often, you can't recast, because of tight shooting deadlines or other logistical considerations. You don't cast anyone to be a straw man, unless it's for one episode."

Ouch.
