It was only yesterday (13 June) when the eagerly-anticipated second part of the latest season of the 'ton finally dropped.

Naturally, we all raced through all four episodes in absolutely no time at all and we're all already counting down the days until the next instalment finally hits our screens.

And now, Bridgerton fans are all making the exact same demand for season four after part two of season three finally dropped on Netflix.

OK, so we already know about the stars set to return for the upcoming season alongside the exciting plot twist.

However, the latest Bridgerton buzz sees fans all demanding the next season be focussed on none other than Benedict Bridgerton's love story.

While nothing official has been confirmed yet, it seems all signs point to Benedict, the second-eldest sibling played by Luke Thompson, being the centre of the fourth instalment of the period drama.

Many fans of the 'ton have since taken to social media to share their wishes, with one X user pleading: "Let it be our sweet, open minded art soul Benedict Bridgerton be the lead of season 4."

"Just finished Bridgerton and I really liked this season even though they changed so many things from the book... season 4 better be Benedict," urged a second.

A third chimed in: "Bridgerton season 4 better be about my guy Benedict.

"Give him everything he doesn't even know he deserves, PLEASE!"

"Bridgerton season 4 better be Benedict, or I'm going be mad [sic]," penned a fourth while a fifth chirped: "Benedict Bridgerton season 4 lead here we go!"

Another echoed: "If season 4 is not Benedict’s season, I will cry like look at the material."

And a final X user theorised: "If Benedict isn’t season 4’s lead I don’t know who else it could be."

Only time will tell as showrunner, Jess Brownell, previously revealed that we won't be seeing another season until as late as 2026.

Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Jess explained: "We are working to try and put the seasons out more quickly, but they do take eight months to film and then they have to be edited, and then they have to be dubbed into every language."

She went on: "And the writing takes a very long time as well, so we’re kind of on a two-year pace, we’re trying to speed up but somewhere in that range."

Bridgerton season 3 is currently available to stream on Netflix.
