Apple Cider Vinegar viewers have been racking their brains about Clive looking so familiar throughout the series, but others have worked out why.

If there's one thing that Netflix tend to do pretty well - it's true crime.

And it's safe to say that one of the their latest shows, Apple Cider Vinegar, has been a hit with viewers.

The series follows the disturbing true story of Belle Gibson, a woman who faked having a terminal illness to grow a wellness empire.

It was released to the platform on 6 February, and viewers have been engrossed in watching her twisted ways unravel.

Belle gained the trust of her followers by sharing openly about her struggles with brain cancer.

Only, the cancer was non-existent, and Gibson was scamming her hundreds of thousands of followers - many of whom were looking for hope while living with similar conditions.

Her Instagram was made up of perfect pictures portraying that she was glowing with health, despite posting regularly about her crippling illness.

Shamelessly, she initially shared with fans that she had 'four months to live', while all of this was going on, there was simply no evidence, and never has been, that Gibson had ever had cancer.

While viewers are completely hooked, they all noticed one other thing about Clive, played by Ashley Zukerman, looking oddly familiar.

Some fans figured out that it's because he looks super similar to actors BJ Novak and Jake Gyllenhaal.

One said: "I could have sworn it was Jake Gyllenhaal."

A second said: "Watching Apple Cider Vinegar and Ashley Zukerman (who plays Clive) looks so much like Jake Gyllenhaal."

Another noted: "I thought he was BJ Novak with lighter hair when he first made an appearance on the show."

A third said: "I just called him Fake Gyllenhaal."

"OH! I just realized who the dude from Apple Cider Vinegar reminded me of! Ashley Zukerman is a Baby BJ Novak!" another said.

But others also mentioned the star looks like Hugh Grant.

Gibson's lies were finally exposed in 2015, when journalists Beau Donelly and Nick Toscano published their findings about her failing to pass on money meant for charitable donations.

Following this, Gibson even admitted that the whole thing was a lie, speaking to Australia's Women's Weekly.

In a shocking turn of events, she said: "None of it's true.

"I am still jumping between what I think I know and what is reality.

"I have lived it and I'm not really there yet."
