A video has gone viral this week of an attendee of one of Billie Eilish's concerts hurling a bracelet directly at the singer's face, and fans have been left stunned.

It isn't just the strength of the throw which has left fans in shock, but the 22-year-old's reaction.

Los Angeles-born Billie has been touring the US as part of her sell-out tour, where she's been performing chart-topping hits like 'Bad Guy', 'Ocean Eyes', 'Birds of a Feather' and 'No Time To Die' - the James Bond theme track that earned her her first Academy Award.

She also bagged an Oscar for she and brother Finneas' song 'What Was I Made For?', which left Barbie viewers in tears when it was played during a particularly poignant part of the 2023 chick flick, where Margot Robbie's titular character explores the societal preference of men over women.

Teasing this heartbreaking number last year ahead of its release, Billie claimed the track 'means the absolute world' to her, adding that 'this movie is gonna change ur lives' and 'hopefully the song will too'.

Over the weekend, during one of her concert performances in the States, the hitmaker sat on the stage floor and began singing the emotional track when suddenly, something was launched at her face from the crowd. Take a look:

In a video of the incident - which has since reignited discussions on concert etiquette following a series of similar incidents last year - an item is thrown which appears to be a pretty hefty silver necklace or bracelet.

The jewellery hits Billie directly in the face before falling onto her lap, with the musician reacting initially with a shocked motion.

Impressively, she was able to continue performing without even skipping a beat, remaining composed and only enacting with an eye roll.

She then gently tossed the bracelet back into the audience.

Despite being praised by fans for her pristine level of professionalism, other attendees subsequently admitted they were surprised Billie continued playing, with some claiming they wouldn't have blamed her if she cancelled the remainder of the gig.

Commenting on the clip on social media, one hit out: "Y’all need to stop throwing stuffs at singers on stage. That is just so disrespectful"

Another noted: "I'm no fan of hers, but I think singers should just end concerts if they get hurt by something someone throws at them. Just walk off the stage and don't come back. Let the thrower become public enemy number one."

"Why would you throw something onto the stage DURING a song … especially when they’re just sitting right there," a third demanded.

"Yall need to stop disrespecting artists," added another. "Whether you’re sorry or not, if it was your intention or not.

"Think of every possibility that could happen due to your actions first".

The incident comes a year after Harry Styles rushed off stage unable to see after a fan threw a Skittle in his eye from the crowd, and Taylor Swift was forced to issue a plea to her Eras Tour attendees in the hope they'd resist doing the same thing.

Cardi B also launched a microphone into the crowd last year when one concert attendee threw an entire drink over her while she was performing.

Discussing the rise in these dangerous incidents last year, Billie herself spoke to the Hollywood Reporter.

"I've been getting hit onstage with things for like, literally, six years, I don't know why this is like new," she explained at the time.

"People just get excited and it can be dangerous."

Billie added, however: "It's absolutely infuriating when you're up there. I have mixed feelings about it, because when you're up there it blows.

"But you know it's out of love and they're just trying to give you something.

"You're in a vulnerable position, but I've been getting hit with stuff for like years."
