The Super Bowl final performance that saw Serena Williams crip walking on stage has finally reached a resolution as to why she was there.
The Philadelphia Eagles versus the Kansas City Chiefs game on 9 February was a day never to be forgotten.
Thanks to Kendrick Lamar taking to the stage during the halftime show to perform his Grammy-winning diss track 'Not Like Us', it was something that should be written about in the history books.

But something that nearly overshadowed the performance was the appearance of tennis champion Williams on stage doing the crip walk.
Now, many have had their theories about this, as allegedly, Serena is an ex-girlfriend of Drake’s as it was claimed that the pair briefly dated in 2011, as per People.

So, of course, it was going to be a social media wildfire that she was up there vibing whilst Lamar, 37, listened to the audience shout out that the 38-year-old is a 'certified p**dophile', a claim which Drake has vehemently denied.

But why was the 43-year-old tennis legend there? Well, fans had their thoughts.
"Drake watching Serena his ex crip walking to a viral diss song about him that’s legendary," shared one X user, while another wrote: "OK I lied SERENA WILLIAMS doing a CRIP WALK on Drake's tomb (this performance) was THE BEST thing I've ever seen."
As it turns out, the theory is very wrong.
Williams has now commented on her appearance during show and apparently, it wasn’t a jab at Drake.

The sports star spoke to TIME Magazine on 16 April and revealed the reason why she was up on stage with Lamar. Apparently, she and the rapper had been ‘trying to do something together for ages’, and this was their moment.

Williams went on to say that it had nothing to do with Drake, as she stated: “Absolutely not. I would never do that. And that was sad, that anyone would ever think that. I respect how they could.
“Obviously, I can see how someone would think that. But absolutely not. I have never had negative feelings towards him. We’ve known him for so many years.”

She also spoke about whether she regrets her decision to join the performance after some people claimed that she was promoting ‘gang’ activity with her crip walk.
She said: “I don’t know if I regret it or not. I don’t know the answer to that.”
