Rylan Clark has shared an update after his mum was rushed to hospital.
They were enjoying their first holiday together in ‘a good few years’ when Linda had ‘quite a bad fall’ and was rushed into surgery.
Linda has been living with Crohn's since she was in her thirties, which the NHS explains 'is a lifelong condition where parts of the digestive system become inflamed'.
She has had multiple surgeries 'to remove a small part of the digestive system' and takes medicine daily to manage her condition.
Linda had a three-week stay in hospital in 2017 after a procedure went wrong and contracted sepsis in 2018, which was almost fatal.
Rylan was forced to pull out of his Radio 2 show following the recent incident.
Speaking about the alarming situation, the former X Factor contestant said on Friday: "So unfortunately I took my mum away on her first holiday in a good few years and sadly she's had quite a bad fall, resulting in her having to have surgery out here.
Rylan explained that DJ Scott Mills would be covering his 3pm and 6pm slots on Friday.
The former It Takes Two presenter shared an update on Linda on Sunday (3 September) alongside a picture of her smiling in hospital. The snap shows Linda’s left leg strapped up and her right arm in a sling.
“Someone is out of the bed and in a chair,” Rylan captioned the post.
“She can’t believe how many people have sent messages,” he added. “Thanks everyone. Will update you all with more as I can x.”
The comments have been inundated with positive messages from fans and a few famous faces.
Loose Women star Denise Welch said: “Much love Linda.”
Meanwhile, Scott Mills shared a string of heart emojis.
Ruth Langsford commented: “Good to see her smiling.”
Strictly Come Dancing presenter Claudia Winkleman shared: “All love.”
Dame Kelly Holmes shared: "Aww nice to see her smiling.”
One fan wrote: “Wishing your dear mum a speedy recovery xxx You take care of yourself too Rylan as I’m sure it’s been a real shock to you too xxx Take care to you both xxx.”
