The internet has been awash with people taking sides following the lawsuit filed by Blake Lively against her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni.

People have been poring over the documents and debating over old footage again that surfaced in the run up to the film's release.

Lively's lawsuit accuses Baldoni of sexual harassment and orchestrating a 'social manipulation' campaign which led to 'severe emotional distress'.

Baldoni has since broken his silence via his legal team, calling the allegations 'categorically false'.

And now, Lively's husband, Ryan Reynolds, has posted on his social media for the first time since the lawsuit came out.

Deadpool star Reynolds - who has been married to the Gossip Girl actor for 12 years - shared a post on his Instagram Story.

In the spirit of Christmas, he was drawing attention to the needs of sick children and calling for support.

He wrote: "It's almost Christmas Eve, last day to donate to SickKidsVs.

"Blake Lively and I are matching any donation to $500k. This organization is a sanctuary for so many kids and their parents traversing the unimaginable."

Reynolds thanked a colleague for their help during a difficult time, writing: "Thank you RowlandBB for directing this amazing little piece during a time I really didn't feel like putting the suit on.

"Thank you RealLyndaCarter for your time, grace and talent."

"Thank you to my daughter for being such a good person despite your dad asking you to swear (for a good cause)," he finished the message, which accompanied a video of Deadpool with a sleigh, and one of Reynolds' daughters as a young variant of Deadpool.

Reynolds did not mention the lawsuit his wife filed on 20 December.

In the wake of the lawsuit, Lively said: "I hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these sinister retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and helps protect others who may be targeted."

Baldon's legal team have shared a response from the director, with Freedman saying: "It is shameful that Ms. Lively and her representatives would make such serious and categorically false accusations against Mr. Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios and its representatives."

Baldoni co-founded the production company Wayfarer Studios.

The lawyer slammed Blake's lawsuit as 'yet another desperate attempt to 'fix' her negative reputation which was garnered from her own remarks and actions during the campaign for the film; interviews and press activities that were observed publicly, in real time and unedited, which allowed for the internet to generate their own views and opinions'.

He added: "These claims are completely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious with an intent to publicly hurt and rehash a narrative in the media."
