A former Playboy model has shared her honest reasons for wanting to begin weight loss jabs.
Kendra Wilkinson said she wanted to lose weight safely, explaining she is set to start the medication soon.
GLP-1 medications, like Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro, have sky-rocketed in popularity in recent years, despite first being rolled out to tackle the symptoms of type 2 diabetes.
The drugs work by mimicking certain hormones, as well as regulating blood sugar and balancing energy levels. The latter creates a feeling of fullness and reduces a person's appetite.

Speaking to Us Weekly, Kendra was open about why she wanted to start taking the meds.

"I’m a little bit overweight at the moment, so I’m gonna start taking my weight loss shots," said the former Playboy model.
"I’m starting that journey next week. There’s nothing worse than being in a gym every single day, working out and not seeing any progress.
"I hit 40. I’m happy. I’m at peace, but I noticed that my jeans are a little tighter lately, so I don’t want to go out and shop anymore. Mama is on a budget, so I have to fit back in my jeans. So I actually signed up for a shot company that will be delivering my shot next week. So I’ll start my journey next week."

Kendra explained she doesn't want to lose so much weight that she ends up feeling too skinny, but wanted to fit into her jeans comfortably again.
"I just want to slightly, like, ease my way into it," she said. "I just want to be balanced out. I don’t really want to be skinny, but I just want to be balanced and fit in my jeans again."
Kendra has previously opened up about some of the trolling she has received, aimed at those who had been criticising her appearance.
"Yes, I’ve gained weight. Yes, im aging. Yes, I’m not that girl i was before (playboy girl)," she wrote.
"But for once in a long time I feel good and mentally healthy. Kids are my everything. Feeling pretty balanced. Working out and cooking a lot more. Golf, work. No housekeeper or nanny."
Kendra shot to fame on The Girls Next Door, a reality show that began in 2005 and focused on the lives of Hugh Hefner's girlfriends.
These days, Kendra is mum to Hank, 16, and Alijah, 11, who she shares with Hank Baskett.
The mum-of-two has found a new career is a real estate agent in Los Angeles.
