Neil Patrick Harris shares new photo of his children and husband and shocked fans can’t get over it

Neil Patrick Harris has shared a new photo of his family and fans have been left shocked.

The How I Met Your Mother star, who married David Burtka in 2014, posted a picture of the four of them to celebrate leaving 2024 and entering 2025 last night for New Year's Eve.

Showing him blowing on a celebratory party horn, Harris captioned the snap on Instagram: "Happy New Year!! My 2024 year-end recap will be posted tomorrow, as I’m out of time.

“But that seems to be indicative of this last 12 months for me, so I guess it’s apropos. Much love, everyone. Stay safe.

“Please speak to each other with kindness. #grateful @dbelicious.”

Fans who saw the picture were immediately overcome with one thought and took to the comments to express their feelings about it.

One Instagram user wrote: "When did the twins become young adults."

A second commented: "Ain't no way your babies are that grown now. I feel extremely old!!! Happy New Year to you all."

While third exclaimed: "Kids are growing up so fast!! Happy 2025."

"Happy new year! I can't get over how grown your kids are... seems like they were toddlers just yesterday," chirped a fourth, while a fifth said: "Oh my God, look how big the two little ones have become! All the best to the four of you!"

Harris and Burtka first met in 2004 after years of friendship before going public with their relationship in 2007.

Then, the pair decided to expand their family and they went on to become parents to twins Gideon and Harper.

The twins, who are now 14 years old, were born after a surrogate carried and gave birth to them in 2010.

The fraternal twins came to be when two different eggs were used and Harris and Burtka each donated sperm to double their chances that one of the eggs would become fertilised.

However, never did they expect to find that both eggs would be fertilised, making their surrogate pregnant with twins with different biological fathers.

Speaking to American broadcaster and journalist Barbara Walters in 2014, Harris explained: "We inserted one of my sperm and one of David's sperm into two eggs with the hope that they would both take, just because we both wanted to be dads biologically. Both took, miraculously."

Harris also explained that he has no interest in finding out which of his twins are his biologically as he and his husband love them as they are.

"We are their parents and I love them implicitly," he said.

While the couple have no idea who the biological father is for each of their children, Harris said that they both have suspicions 'based on their behaviour' but did not reveal what those suspicions were.
