Rahul Kohli, who starred in the Supergirl TV series, has hit out at the cruel hate towards Milly Alcock, who played the leading role in the new movie version of the DC comic.
The Supergirl movie, which was released worldwide on 26 June, saw the House of The Dragon actress, 26, step into the role of Kara Zor-El.
However, the film, which cost around $170m (£128.4m) to make, sadly struggled at the box office, making just $38 million (£28m) in North America and $68 million (£50m) globally in its opening weekend.
The figures, paired with a few brutal reviews from critics, seem to have given trolls the all-clear to send unfair hate towards the actress.

Fans have been sticking up for Alcock, pointing out that some critics are ‘acting like the movie is the worst sin committed to film’ and the hate is being exaggerated.
And joining them is Kohli, who played tech prodigy and businessman Jack Spheer, aka Biomax, between 2017 and 2019.

The 40-year-old British actor took to his Instagram story to hit out at the people ‘bullying’ Alcock, especially those ‘weaponising their large following’ to do so.
He wrote: “How have we fallen so far where it’s just “normal” for grown a*** adults to bully and weaponise their large following to harass a young actor who dared to play a F***ING COMIC BOOK CHARACTER?”
Kohli added: “Your country is falling apart, your economy is in the gutter AND THIS IS WHAT YOU CHOOSE TO SPEND YOUR TIME ON? Bullying a girl 30 years younger than you? F***ing pathetic the lot of them.”
His post has quickly made its way to Reddit, where fans have thanked the star for defending the Supergirl star.
One social media user penned: “For real, even if the movie was bad, just move on and watch something else, 1000 bad movies come every year…it doesn’t give us right to personally attack artists involved.”
While a second agreed: “This is great AND would like to see more vocal support from Milly’s current and former castmates. The discourse around her as a person and this movie is so f***ed up.”
And a third wrote: “The supergirl movie had its problems but the acting wasn’t one of them. Milly, Jason and eve all put in a good performance.”
It comes after Peter Safran, co-chairman and co-chief executive of DC Studios spoke out about the box office results.
He told the New York Times: “While Supergirl didn’t meet our box office expectations, it’s just one component of a broader, long-term strategy at DC Studios that we remain confident in.”
