She might hail from Manchester and he might have starred in The Only Way Is Essex, but Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright's beautiful new baby girl reportedly shares something with some of the Royals.

That's right, according to some media reports, the newborn infant is actually connected in a particularly special way to several members of the British monarchy.

More specifically, the couple's new addition is said to be linked to the Duchess of York (also known as Sarah Ferguson, or 'Fergie'), her daughter Princess Eugenie, and the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle.

For those out of the loop, ex-Coronation Street actress Michelle, 37, announced on Wednesday (12 Mar) that she and her former reality star husband Mark, 38, had welcomed their first child.

The update came just weeks after the couple first broke the news of their pregnancy. On 29 December, they posted a beach-side snap on social media where Michelle could be seen showing off her blossoming baby bump.

"2025 is going to be a special one for us," the star wrote at the time.

Taking to Instagram this week, however, the couple - who've been married since 2015 - revealed that she'd given birth to a daughter, born on the 6th. They named their daughter Palma Elizabeth Wright.

In the caption of a sweet black and white snap showing her baby's tiny hands, Michelle wrote: "Together we have a new love to share… Our little girl," alongside a white love-heart.

Much has already been said in the press about Palma's birth - including about her alleged Royal connection.

It turns out that Our Girl actress Michelle gave birth to her daughter at The Portland Hospital in London, as per The Sun.

This is also the facility where a handful of members of the Royal Family have welcomed their children.

Not only did Sarah Ferguson welcome daughters Beatrice and Eugenie at the facility in 1988 and 1990 - the latter of whom also welcomed her two sons, August in 2021, and Ernest in 2023, there.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry also welcomed their first child, Prince Archie, at The Portland Hospital in 2019.

The facility isn't just popular with Royals, however, with the likes of Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, Victoria and David Beckham, also having had their own babies at the private maternity hospital.

Palma's name has also sparked much discussion online, with many wondering whether it might be a tribute to the central city of the Spanish island of Mallorca, where the couple frequently holidayed.

Though Michelle and Mark have yet to confirm why they decided on this name, the moniker is of Spanish origin and also has roots in Italian, Latin and Portuguese. Palma means palm tree, honey and sweetness and translates to 'palm'.
