Conspiracy theorists make bizarre claim about Meghan Markle’s real age and people are not happy

Conspiracy theorists have been making wild claims about Meghan Markle's age, as she celebrated her birthday this week.

The Duchess of Sussex turned 44 on Monday (4 August), but according to bizarre claims online, not everyone is convinced she was born in 1981.

Over on Reddit, one person claimed that Meghan was not born in 1981, but rather a few years later.

They wrote earlier this year: "MM claims to have born on August 4, 1981, which makes her 43 years old. Social media speculation is that... she's actually older than 43."

The Redditor went on to name a YouTuber and journalist who referred to Meghan as being 'late 40s,' which they believe is evidence that the Duchess of Sussex is actually older than 44.

Meanwhile, in 2023, Newsweek reported that a different YouTuber claimed Meghan was born in 1977.

In the video, titled, 'Meg Is Really 45 Years Old! Samantha Exposes Meghan's True Age In Court: She Was Born In 1977', they claim that court papers filed by her sister stated that Meghan was born in 1977.

However, in Samantha Markle's book, The Diary of Princess Pushy's Sister, these claims are rubbished after Samantha herself acknowledges Meghan's birth year as 1981.

"The Great Migration of 1632 brought our early ancestors to the United States from England on the Mayflower, and The Ship Lyon, but the great migration of genes brought the Ship 'Meghan Flower' to dock at our house on August 31, 1981. My baby sister was bi-racial, beautiful, and was both the color of a peach and a rose," it reads.

People were also quick to point out that any claims over Meghan's birth year were total nonsense, especially considering official documents confirm her birth date to be 4 August, 1981.

Meanwhile, in 2021, Meghan reflected on her 40th birthday with a message on her Archewell website.

She said: "In reflecting on my 40th birthday and the many things I am grateful for, I'm struck that time is among our greatest and most essential gifts."

Nevermind the fact that Meghan's birth certificate is public information and also matches her birth date with 4 August 1981.

One person wrote on Reddit: "I don't believe the gossip either. You can't tell how old a middle aged woman is by her looks. I'm 47 and look like I'm in my early 40's, my mom is 72 and looks looks like she's in her late 60's yet I work with a woman who is younger than me and looks like she's in her mid 50's."

While another added: "Her father, her half brother and sister, and her friend going back to elementary school, all agree she was born in 1981."

And a third said: "This is a total nothing burger. It's so easy to check and verify her age. It's there for all to see in the California Birth Index, backed up by other official records. Her age matches with her childhood friend, Ninaki Priddy - also easily verified. She is 43. 44 this year."
