Megan Fox’s ex Brian Austin Green has sparked a heated debate after making a controversial comment about what led to their 15-year relationship.
Speaking on Sunday's episode of the I Do, Part 2 podcast, the 52-year-old Beverly Hills, 90210 actor shared: "My ex and I were together for almost 15 years."
"We were married for almost 10 years, and I led with physical attraction," he told hosts TJ Holmes and Amy Robach.
Green explained that he gravitated toward being 'physically attracted to somebody and then sort of build a relationship around that'.
He and Fox, 40, tied the knot back in 2010 and went on to welcome three children during their relationship: Noah, 13, Bodhi, 12, and nine-year-old Journey.
They parted ways in May 2020.

Fox and Green met in 2004 when she was 18, and he was 30.
After catching light of his comments about leading with 'physical attraction' in his marriage with Fox, critics flocked to social media to take issue with their 12-year age gap and the fact they met when she was just a teenager while he was a fully grown man.
"She was 18, and he was 30," penned one Instagram user.
A second chimed in: "She was a teenager…"

Another echoed: "15 years for looks? Nah, there was more than that; get real..."
And a final social media user defended: "He said 'led' with physical attraction, meaning he put it FIRST. It's okay to say he made a mistake in doing so, and I wish more men realised that beauty and looks fade. Find a genuine connection and put it FIRST."

During the sessions, Green came to the realisation that he needed 'to be friends with someone first' before embarking on a romantic relationship.
"I think when you start from a place of a genuine connection with someone, then you’re not so concerned about whether they are truly into you or not," he added, adding that it allowed two people to communicate 'in a very transparent way'.

"Sharna and I talked about our best qualities and our worst qualities together," he said. "We sort of put it all out on the table.
"Your approach to a relationship is the best way to know if it’s just a purely physical connection."
"That’s only going to last for so long that you’re going to get to a point where you go, 'I can’t stand that other person. So they’re not hot to me anymore.'"
Green and Burgess welcomed their son Zane a few years later in June 2022 and got engaged the next year in 2023.
Meanwhile, Fox welcomed a daughter named Saga with her now ex-fiancé, Machine Gun Kelly, in March 2025 and co-parent her together.
