Lizzo has revealed she was a 'late bloomer' and didn't lose her virginity until her 30s, in a candid admission about her sex life.

The 37-year-old American singer and rapper appeared on the latest episode of the Friends Keep Secrets podcast with hosts Benny Blanco, Lil Dicky (Dave Burd), and Kristin Batalucco.

As the conversation of 'virginity' came up, which, to be honest, we can all agree is an outdated term, Lizzo admitted to the group, "I was a late bloomer. I lied about it for a long time."

This prompted the hosts to attempt to guess when exactly she had sex for the first time, to which she revealed it happened in 2020, so she would have been roughly 32 or 33.

And her very unique reason for waiting is not exactly what anyone was expecting her to say.

"Isn't that crazy?" the singer asked, "I wasn't even thinking about it... I promised myself when I was younger that I wouldn't have sex until I won a Grammy."

And it looks like she actually stuck to it, as the star did in fact bag her first Grammy in January 2020, taking home the Best Pop Solo Performance award for her song 'Truth Hurts'.

The group was surprised, and Lil Dicky quizzed her on what would've happened if she hadn't won a Grammy, and whether she would have eventually gone ahead with it anyway.

Laughing, Lizzo, real name Melissa Viviane Jefferson, clarified that 'it was not the night of the Grammys,' but soon after.

She said, "I feel a weight off of my chest right now. It was so embarrassing. I was in a friend group of girls. We were all girling one night, and it was like, 'Wait, Lizzo are you a virgin?'"

"I was, remember it was so embarrassing. I said, 'I love the D.' I said that. And it held me over for a little while."

The singer went on to reveal that she also didn't have her first kiss until she was 2021, and branded it as 'terrible'.

She explained: "Ya'll have no idea. It was religious for me too. Like, when we were teenagers at my church, we all made a pact that we wouldn't do anything before marriage.

"And then, I was just so scared. Like, nobody wanted to kiss me.

"It was a New Year's Eve thing, and he forced it on me. I was really mad, and I was like, 'My first kiss is ruined.' I was so mad."

As for life right now, Lizzo is currently dating musician and comedian Myke Wright, after she confirmed their relationship during an April 2022 interview with Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM series Radio Andy.

She said on The Howard Stern Show in December 2022: I am very much in love with Myke. 100 percent. There’s nobody else I’m going to be with for the rest of my life."
