US talk show host Andy Cohen has been slammed online after making a comment about Liam Neeson’s late wife.
Liam lost his wife Natasha Richardson in 2009. The Parent Trap actress died in a skiing accident at the age of 45 while in Quebec, Canada - at the time she and Liam had been married for 15 years and had two sons, Micheál, and Daniel.
It began while the family were on holiday, where Natasha had been taking a beginners ski lesson at the Mont Tremblant resort.
It was there that she fell on the slope and hit her head.

While she laughed it off and called her husband to tell him about it, little did she know that it had caused a fatal brain bleed which could kill her.

By the time Liam had flown over to be by her side in hospital, Natasha was brain dead and on life support.
He told Loaded Magazine in 2014 that he and Natasha had a pact that if either of them was to be in ‘a vegetative state we’d pull the plug’.

So, that’s what Liam did.
For 16 years since her passing, Liam has remained single with the exception of a short relationship with Freya St. Johnston.
However, there have recently been rumours of his budding relationship with Pamela Anderson following their apparent closeness on the press tour for their new movie The Naked Gun.
And now comments from TV host Andy Cohen bout Natasha whilst talking about Liam’s alleged new romance have sparked furious backlash.

Andy was a close friend of Natasha’s, and when expressing how happy he is that Liam and Pamela might be an item, it seems as though he may have made a mistake in his wording.

"Natasha was a dear friend of mine and I'm gonna tell you something. I and all of the friends in this circle are very much stanning whatever this is," Cohen said during his show Andy Cohen Live on 30 July.
He shared how he and Liam talked about it during the premiere of The Naked Gun.

"As I was telling him at the premiere party, I go, 'Liam, she is an independent woman just like Tash was. She loves to cook. She has her own thing going on. She has two boys,'" Cohen said.
"I mean, this just works, and you know, she is a formidable human being, Pamela Anderson. She really is.
"What she's been through and how she kind of reclaimed herself and redefined herself."
However, fans were not happy to hear the comparison and they took to social media to tell him so.

One person wrote: “Let’s not do that sir. It’s so disrespectful to all three people. Let people live and rest peacefully.”
Another said: “Comparisons are the thief of joy - just live and let live.”

Someone else commented: “Ummmm that’s so hurtful.”
Natasha passed away after she was transferred to America's Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, where her loved ones got to say their final goodbyes.
Liam has always been open about his grief and has even previously explained how he keeps Natasha’s memory alive all these years later.
In a 2020 interview with Inquirer.net, he said: "I speak to her everyday at her grave which is about a mile and half down the road.
“I go down there quite often, so I do speak to her as if she’s here. Not that she answers me.”
