Khloé Kardashian has come under heavy criticism on Instagram after sharing a bikini snap on her Instagram this week.

The Kardashian's star, 39, took to social media to share photos from her recent holiday with her kids, but it was one image of the mum-of-two stretched out on the sand that had people shocked.

It wasn't so much the photograph itself, but more so the caption that left people horrified.

In the snap, Khloé is stretched out on the beach, and only her body can be seen in the photo, with her face cut off from the snap.

At first glance it looks like any other holiday photo, but it seems Khloé only shared the image as 'motivation'.

The TV star wrote: "This post is for me to be motivated! Come on Khloé! You got this. Time to turn up the cardio and weights."

And some were horrified when they realised the photo was meant to serve as inspiration for a fitness overhaul.

One person wrote: "This post is so sad. Disappointing."

Another said: "Khlo you are stunning in any shape and size! Please remember that."

While a third added: "Please, can 'influential' women stop spreading their insecurities and creating impossible beauty standards?"

Others were angry, claiming the caption was 'harmful' for younger girls and women.

"Please consider the thousands of little girls seeing this and how it could affect their self esteem," they wrote.

"Love your body. You are missing an opportunity to create a movement of self love and acceptance for women and girls of all ages."

Meanwhile, someone else said: "Perfection is unattainable. Little girls seeing this & reading these words need to love the skin they’re in this cr*p post is exactly why social media is so harmful to the mental health of our young people.

"Really Sad messaging here by a lady she many young girls idolise [sic]."

It's not the only photo Khloé has been criticised for this week, however.

Sharing another photo of her standing in the ocean, she captioned the post: "'KIM, THERE’S PEOPLE THAT ARE DYING.' – @kourtneykardash."

The caption is in reference to a quote made by Kourtney Kardashian during Keeping Up With The Kardashians, but people felt it was 'tone-deaf'.

One wrote: "Yikes. I think they are becoming way too in their bubble and not realizing what's happening in the real world? Tone deaf caption. I love Kardashians and Khloe especially. This makes me sad. I thought they were better then this.

"Could have been any other caption then people are dying. When RIGHT NOW there's is influx of death in children and women in the world."

While another claimed that the 'timing was horrible'.

Tyla has reached out to Khloé's reps for comment.
