Hilaria Baldwin has shared her candid response after being criticised for lashing out at her husband Alec mid-interview.

The drama all kicked off when the couple, who tied the knot back in 2012, chatted with ExtraTV about their new reality TV show, The Baldwins, and were asked if fans could start looking forward to a second season.

While Hilaria took a moment before answering the question, Alec chimed in to say 'The Hilaria Show!' prompting her to say: "No!"

The mum-of-seven continued: "I think we're going to see, you know, we're going to see how it feels to be out there..."

"It's going to be great," Alec interjected before praising Hilaria again: "You're a winner!"

Clearly vexed by the interruption, Hilaria turned to her husband and said: "When I'm talking you're not talking."

"I'm sorry," Alec replied before she repeated: "No, when I'm talking you're not talking."

Looking directly into the camera, she laughed: "This is why, yes. We’ll have to just cut him out of the show."

After watching the clip, people rushed to social media to share their thoughts on the exchange with one TikTok user writing: "OMG he is praising her and she tells him to be quiet."

A second criticised: "Wow, that was a very, very bad moment right there."

"She is unbelievably disrespectful to her husband," slammed a third, while a fourth agreed: "She is very disrespectful towards him."

And another echoed: "She is very rude to her husband in front of everyone."

Hilaria has since responded to such backlash in a video alongside Alec posted to Instagram on Thursday (20 March).

The pair could be seen lip-syncing to the now-viral audio from the ExtraTV interview in bed together as Hilaria asked Alec: "And that is called, what’s the word of the day?"

"Manterrupting," he responded before Hilaria chimed in: "The whole point is that we interrupt each other all the time," adding that the situation was just a case of 'correctile dysfunction'.

In the same video, the couple were ironically interrupted by one of their children who was heard shouting 'mummy' prompting the pair to burst into laughter before sharing a kiss.

She captioned the clip: "1. It runs in the family

"2. Marriage

"3. Manteruppting

"4. Correctile dysfunction."

Hilaria rounded off the post with the hashtag 'marriagegoals'.

In a follow-up video, Hilaria could be seen cosying up with Alec as she told him: "I’m having a lot of women tell me they’d treat you better than I’d treat you. Do you want to make a change?"

"Yeah, I think this isn’t working," the It’s Complicated actor joked.
