Gemma Collins has shared new photos with her adoring fans after being forced to stop taking weight loss drugs.
The 45-year-old TOWIE star took to Instagram over the weekend (24 May) to share with her 2.3 million followers an update on her life.
She posted a snap standing in a pool donning a keyhole tiger print swimsuit with chunky black shades and her hair in two braids to complete the summery ensemble.
Gemma, who is engaged to long-time partner Rami Hawash, took the opportunity to boast in the accompanying Instagram caption that she has 'never had a bad-looking boyfriend'.
"Woke up this morning and patted myself on the back," she wrote. "I’ve never had a bad-looking boyfriend!!!"
In true GC fashion, the reality TV personality added: "Always pulled a sort and that really hit today #beyourownsunshine."
Gemma Collins and her fiancé, Rami Hawash (Instagram/@gemmacollins) Gemma's latest post comes after she candidly opened up about her journey taking weight loss drugs.
While appearing on I'm a Celebrity... South Africa, she told her fellow campmates, she’d been forced to stop using them.
"But my own personal experience, when you first take it, it’s absolutely life changing, you cannot believe how amazing it is," she explained.
In just three months, she dropped from a size 26 to a size 20 and lost 3.5 stone with the help of the injections.
Speaking to the Daily Mail last year, Gemma revealed she 'had to slow down on it all for a bit' after suffering a minor gallbladder attack.
"We were going away for Rami’s 50th, and I was in excruciating pain. I’d taken him to a Ferrari day because it was his 50th birthday and we were flying the next day," she recalled.
"I fell to the floor, whilst he was going round the track. And I was like, whoa, I’m in pain.
"And then I was thinking I’m gonna have to go and sit in A&E.
"I called my doctor, and he said, 'Let me come to your house and scan you'. When he scanned me, it was gallstones."
Gemma boasted that she 'never had a bad-looking boyfriend' in her latest Instagram post (Instagram/@gemmacollins) The NHS explains that gallstones are small stones that form in the gallbladder.
Gallstones are common and often do not cause symptoms.
However, if a gallstone blocks a bile duct (a small tube that connects the gallbladder to the liver and other organs), it can cause tummy pain.
The pain may:
- feel severe
- be constant
- last longer than 30 minutes, and up to several hours
- be in the middle of your tummy, or just under your ribs on the right side
- make you feel sick or vomit
This tummy pain is called biliary colic.
Gemma's been sharing several messages of body positivity on her social media accounts (Instagram/@gemmacollins) Gemma's most recent swimsuit post follows two others, which included heartfelt messages of body positivity.
The first post's caption read: "Wear the swimsuit darlings …
"Your body is not here to apologise. It’s here to live, to swim, to laugh, to glow in the sunshine and take up every inch of joy it deserves.
"Wear the swimsuit. Take the photo. Walk the beach. Dive in anyway.
"Confidence is not a dress size, it’s an energy. And the most beautiful thing anyone can wear is self-love with zero permission NEEDED."
Gemma urged others to embrace their body confidence this summer (Instagram/@gemmacollins) The second post's caption echoed: "LOVING THE SUN. Wishing you all a lovely bank holiday.
"Get your body in the sun, let your soul exhale. Body confidence isn’t a size, it’s an energy. Own your glow, take up space, wear the swimsuit, dive in the pool, laugh louder, live softer.
"The sun was never asking for perfection… only presence."
