Emma Stone has finally broken her silence following one of the most talked about moments of this year's Oscars ceremony.

Rivalling Ryan Gosling’s iconic performance of ‘I’m Just Ken’ from Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie was the exchange between actor Emma Stone and Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel.

Despite the Oscars having taken place over a month ago now (seriously, where does the time go?), fans have been waiting with baited breath for clarification over the viral moment.

I am of course talking about when Kimmel made a joke about the number of sex scenes in Poor Things, for which Emma Stone won the Best Actress award.

The film, in which Stone portrays Bella Baxter, a woman who has been brought back to life by an audacious scientist, was nominated for an incredible 11 Oscars in total.

The flick was well received by critics, landing an impressive 92 percent critics score on aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes.

During the Oscars ceremony, Kimmel quipped: “Those were all the parts of Poor Things that we’re allowed to show on TV.”

A widely-circulated clip of Stone sat next to her husband Dave McCary during the joke seemingly showed her mouthing ‘pr**ck’, followed by her husband laughing:

Countless fans took Stone’s Oscar win as karma and justice served.

But, in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Stone has finally put an end to the speculation.

The interviewer asks her outright: “Emma, did Kimmel really upset you at the Oscars, or was that taken out of context?”

Stone responds: “Did he upset me?”

The interviewer then clarifies: “There’s a thing that went around the internet: After he said, 'That’s all we could show from Poor Things', you said something to your husband. Some people thought you called Kimmel a p**ck.”

Stone then says: “No! I didn’t call him a p**ck.”

She continues: “What did I say? I didn’t call him a p**ck. I wasn’t upset with him at all. I’ll have to look that up.”

Later on in the interview, Stone clarifies she can take a joke.

She adds: “I’m near-unoffendable.”

I guess we’ll have to wait a while longer until we find out what was actually said, but we’re glad she didn’t take offence.

In the meantime, we’ll be watching the clip over and over again trying to master the art of lip reading.
