Emma Roberts has revealed that having famous family members has actually led to her losing jobs in the past.

Thanks to the whole 'nepo baby' debate, you might think that having celebrity relatives would help your career, especially if you're in the same industry.

The phrase 'nepo baby' implies that the child's success is directly linked to that of their relatives, thanks to connections within the industry.

But according to Emma, 33, she's actually 'lost more jobs than [she's] gained'.

ICYMI, Emma's auntie is none other than *the* Julia Roberts, and her dad is actor Eric Roberts.

Eric's wife is casting director, Eliza Roberts, meanwhile her parents are the late screenwriters, David Rayfiel and Lila Garrett.

Emma, 33, first started her career back in 2001 where she starred in Nickeloden show, Unfabulous. She's also had leading roles in the likes of Scream Queens, American Horror Story, Wild Child and Christmas movie, Holidate.

But despite her success - and being surrounded by so many within the industry - Emma said people don't always see the rejection.

Speaking on the Table for Two with Bruce Bozzi podcast, she explained: “That's the thing that I always talk about — people kind of only see your wins because they only see when you're on the poster of a movie. They don't see all the rejection along the way.

"That's why I'm always very open about things I’ve auditioned for and haven't gotten the part for.

"I think it's important to talk about - otherwise people just think everything's been so great and linear and easy, and no, it's not at all. But of course it looks like that to the outside perspective or to the naked eye."

She also explained that she's never been given a job because of her famous relatives, telling Flaunt: "People have opinions and sometimes maybe they’re not good opinions of people in your family."

She even said that she's 'definitely' lost jobs because of it.

"I’ve never gotten a job because of it, I know I definitely have lost a couple of jobs because of it," she added.

Speaking of famous relatives, did you know that Billie Eilish's mum once starred in Friends?

Fans have been going well and truly wild upon learning that Billie's mum, Maggie Baird, appeared in an episode of Friends in 1999.

The episode, titled 'The One Where Joey Loses His Audience', sees Maggie portraying Casting Director 2, while Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc) auditions in front of her.

The funny scene shows Joey losing out on a role he needed in order to pay for his medical care due to a painful hernia.

We love this crossover.
