After weeks of swirling rumours, the celebrity pairing, who recently starred in the Wicked movies together as Glinda and Fiyero, have pretty much confirmed that they're going to be at the forefront of a new production of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George.
Bailey sent fans wild with an Instagram post today (14 January) which consisted of a picture of himself, 37, and Grande, 32, sitting inside an art gallery in front of the colossal painting 'A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte' by Georges Seurat that inspired the 1984 musical.

Rumours have been swirling for some time now that a new production of Sunday in the Park with George would be heading to London in 2027 - specifically the Barbican theatre.
American composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim, who died in 2021 aged 91, collaborated with director James Lapine on the musical.
The show follows a character called George, a fictional version of the French painter Georges Seurat, while he works on 'A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte'.
In the days leading up to the completion of his most famous painting, the painter is struggling to make meaningful art while maintaining a relationship with his lover Dot.

However, amid the scorn of the artistic community, his artistic ability thrives while his love diminishes.
Then, a century later, his great grandson who is also named George and also an artist, finds himself burnt out and in search of what artistic path to follow, but finds the answer to his future lies in the past.
When will Jonathan Bailey and Ariana Grande star in it and who are they playing?

Tony Award and Olivier Award winner Marianne Elliott is set to direct the Pulitzer Prize-winning show, as per WestEndTheatre.com.
The news was first broken in Deadline and the show is allegedly set to run in summer 2027.
A source told the publication that both 'Grande and Bailey have excelled in the parts' in early read-throughs, with it being assumed they'll be playing George and Dot.
The musical first opened on Broadway in 1984 and it briefly came to London in 1990 before returning between 2005 and 2006.
