The grief-stricken community soon begin seeking for answers, and as anger takes over, someone to blame.
Sarah Lancashire (Happy Valley, Kiri) plays Polly Bevan, the wife of local politician Iwan (Mark Lewis Jones) who is desperate to return his town to its former glory.
At home, the couple's situation is far more complicated as their rebellious teenage daughter Leona (Jade Croot), who has a difficult relationship with her father, turns out to be the ringleader of the teenagers who broke into the site. Leona is the only survivor of the accident, but suffers life-changing injuries.
Polly leans on her oldest friends, Angela (Joanna Scanlan) and Greta (Eiry Thomas), and also Debbie (Genevieve Barr), whose husband, Alan, died in the accident.
