Biopics are all the range these days. From Rocketman inspired by the life of Elton John, to Bohemian Rhapsody, which focused on the career of Queen frontman Freddie Mercury and a recently announced Madonna flick, it makes us wonder... who's next?
The next biopic we're adding to our watch-list (if it gets the green light) will be one based on the life of Barack Obama and this time the musician involved will be the starring actor rather than the focus because Obama has given Drake his blessing to play him in a film.
In a video interview with Complex News, Obama gave Drake his stamp of approval on behalf of his entire family.

"I will say this - Drake seems to be able to do anything he wants," he said. "If the time comes, and he's ready... Drake has, more importantly, my household's stamp of approval. I suspect [my daughters] Malia and Sasha would be just fine with it."
Drake previously said he would jump at the opportunity to portray the 44th President of the United States. In an interview with Paper in 2010, per Digital Spy, Drake said: "I hope somebody makes a movie about Obama's life soon because I could play him. That's the goal. I watch all the addresses. Any time I see him on TV, I don't change the channel, I definitely pay attention and listen to the inflections of his voice."
"If you ask anyone who knows me, I'm pretty good at impressions. Slowly but surely, I'm not in the study mode because nobody's called me about anything, but I just pay attention so when the day comes I'm not scrambling to learn how to speak like him."

Drake previously had a main role in the Canadian tv show Degrassi: The Next Generation between 2001 and 2008. Since then, Drake has focused mostly on music though he has hosted SNL in 2014 and 2016.
He has not completely abandoned his roots - he serves as executive producer for Euphoria and the British crime drama Top Boy since 2019.
Drake playing Obama is something we would all be interested to see...
