Meanwhile The OA actor, Jason is set to play Peter Groff - Mr Groff's more successful older brother who he has been staying with following his separation from Mrs Groff.

Also joining is gender nonconforming recording artist and songwriter, Dua Saleh who plays Cal - a nonbinary student at Moordale who Netflix explains immediately clashes with Hope's vision for the school.

Production for Sex Education Season 3 commenced earlier this month in Wales. It will return to Netflix with eight new episodes in 2021, although it is expected to have suffered some delay due to the coronavirus pandemic.

To recap, the last season ended with Otis coming to terms with the fact he's in love with Maeve. He leaves her a voicemail with his declaration of love, and asks her to call him back.

However, before Maeve can hear the voicemail, Issac (played by George Robinson) who has feelings for Maeve deletes the message.

Meanwhile, one of Season 2's central dramas focuses on Eric and Adam. Eric ends up in a relationship with the new French student at Moordale, Rahim, but despite making it official, he can't get Adam out of his head, especially since he's back in town after being expelled from the army.

In the finale, Adam makes a grand gesture towards Eric in front of the entire school as well as dad and headteacher, Mr. Groff.

It's unknown what lies ahead in Season 3, but writer and creator Laurie Nunn told LADbible: "I love writing these characters.

"It's such a big ensemble and I think the theme of the show - in terms of it being about sex and relationships - it really just offers up endless story opportunities.

"So I think the show definitely has legs if Netflix are nice enough to let me keep writing it and let Ben [Taylor] keep directing it!"
