Friends star Matt LeBlanc has revealed that he sometimes gets mistaken for his character's father while walking down the street.

The Top Gear host, 51, said on Live with Kelly and Ryan: "I was walking down the street one day - this was a few years ago - and this kid, must've been 13 or 14, he's like, 'Oh my god, you're Joey's dad!'"

"And my response was 'Scram!'" the Joey star added. "That's what an old guy says!"

Friends ran for 10 seasons from 1994 to 2004 and continues to be watched by fans after it was added to Netflix UK in 2018.

Joey's father, Joey Tribbiani, Sr., was played on the NBC show by Robert Costanzo. Costanzo, 76, has also appeared in shows such as Boston Legal and films including Total Recall and Die Hard 2.

Earlier this year it was reported that the cast of the beloved sitcom - Courtney Cox (Monica Geller), David Schwimmer (Ross Geller), Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Green), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay), Matthew Perry (Chandler Bing) and Matt LeBlanc (Joey) - still make a massive amount of cash from reruns of the show.

The cast all now make 2 per cent of the syndication revenue the show makes. While it might not sound like a lot at first, Friends still rakes in a huge amount under Warner Bros, which roughly equates to around $20 million (£15.9 million) each, every year.

You can stream Friends right now on Netflix.
