At the end of the programme, Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly told the current celeb cohort that they'd all be doing the next Bushtucker Trial together.
But in actual fact, they later informed viewers, it would be the task of our newbies, who the rest of the cast were currently unaware of.
At least, that's what we thought, until some eagle eyed fans of the show claim to have spotted Shane Richie talking about them in code.
The quip came as Ant and Dec entered the castle living area to tell the camp-mates about the trial, named Stage Fright.
"We have news," said Dec, to the group.
"We're going to Australia!" Shane joked.
Upon hearing that everyone would be doing the trial, the stars all jumped up in excitement, and hugged each other.
Moments later, Ant and Dec told the public in hushed voices that it would be Russell Watson from The Last Choir Standing and West End superstar Ruthie Henshall, known for having stared in Chicago, Les Miserables and Billy Elliott.
But some fans heard Shane whisper: "R and R... stage fright... R and R," before the presenters left the room.
The rest of the campmates seemed in on the conversation too, and Vernon Kay also appeared to say "R and R," with a smile and a nod.
While, apparently referencing the pair's musical backgrounds, Hollie Arnold concurred: "Because, didn't they say stage?"
Could they have already known about Russell and Ruthie?!
Taking to social media after hearing Shane, one viewer wrote: "Shane knows, whilst hugging for the stage fright announcement. He said R AND R (Ruth and Russell)."
Meanwhile, another penned: "Think its safe to say Shane and Co knew about these two going in when he kept saying 'R&R'."
A third asked: "Why were the celebs saying R&R?! Do they already know? Russell and Ruthie.."
Tyla has contacted ITV representatives for comment.
