I’m A Celebrity Fans Are Saying They Prefer New Castle Setting To The Jungle

Yesterday evening, I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! kicked off on ITV, with this year's star studded line up swapping the Australian jungle for a castle in north Wales.
And viewers were *so* impressed at the show, with many taking to Twitter to say they actually preferred Gwrych Castle to the jungle.

The stunning (and supposedly haunted) castle is located in Conwy and has had the ultimate transformation to make it suitable for the show.
And last night, this year's line-up of celebs, including BBC Radio 1 DJ Jordan North, journalist Victoria Derbyshireand Olympian Mo Farah, were introduced to their living quarters for the very first time.
From a spooky camp filled with mattress-less rusty beds, to a campfire set in what looked like a derelict dungeon, it's a far cry from the jungle.
Celebs can't even shower alone; instead there's a teeny tin bath and a watering can, with a nearby pump which has to be generated by another campmate.
But after nearly two decades of the show being set in Australia, viewers have welcomed the change.

One wrote: "Loved watching I'm a celeb tonight nice to have some sort of normality. Even better watching it in wales."
While another said: "I think this should stay being produced in Wales.... Think of the money @ITV would save.... I also think it seems to have a better production value in the castle. Just throwing that out there."
Meanwhile one added: "I really think that this years I'm a celebrity is going to be better because it's in a [castle] in Wales and I don't think they will go back to Australia. It's the shake up that it needed."

Haven't watched #ImaCelebrity for years, watched tonight because it's Wales. I think this format is much better. The setting is much more interesting than a boring campsite in a jungle. It could move to other beautiful places around the UK. Show the Ppl who never staycation.

Another person suggested the show stick to the UK for good, tweeting: "Haven't watched #ImaCelebrity for years, watched tonight because it's Wales. I think this format is much better.
"The setting is much more interesting than a boring campsite in a jungle. It could move to other beautiful places around the UK. Show the Ppl who never staycation."
In Monday night's episode, Shane Richie and Jordan North will be sealed in coffins filled with snakes for the first bushtucker trial. We can't wait to see what happens!
You can watch tonight on ITV at 8pm.
