In the film, Dani's character was sexually assaulted and Lui said he found it too difficult to watch, however claims that Dani didn't understand his reasoning so their relationship ended.
He went on to say: "I just didn't agree with her choosing a career in acting over me.
"She always wanted to follow in her dad's footsteps to be famous."
The 24-year-old said his relationship with Dani had a 'toxic' ending, however he added that he's happy for her finding love with Jack Fincham and said he has no bad feelings towards her.

It's unlikely that Lui's words will have too much effect on Dani, who said to be ready to marry her new beau next year.
Pen salesman Jack told The Sun: "We're getting married next year, 100 per cent. Like my mum said to me so many times, 'When you know about someone, you just know.
"And now I know what she's talking about. I just know that that's what we want to do."
The couple made headlines for not joining the 'Do Bits Society' during their time in the villa due to Dani wanting to be respectful to her family, and let's face it, who would want to p*ss off Danny Dyer?
