Riverdale fans have only just discovered one of the main stars previously appeared on Friends.
A Reddit user started a new thread after they became aware that Cole Sprouse, who plays Jughead Jones, had a key role on the beloved sitcom.
The 29-year-old starred in seven episodes of Friends between 2000 and 2002 as Ben Geller.
Fans will recall Ben is the son of Ross Geller (David Schwimmer) and Carol Willick (Jane Sibbet). He is Ross' only son from his first marriage and was raised primarily by his mum Carol and her partner Susan (Jessica Hecht).

Ben was naturally bright and grew up to be a cheeky rascal but essentially disappeared from the show after season eight.
One fan shared on Reddit: "Every time I watch Riverdale and find him attractive I get weirded out for a minute since I watched him as Ben, but like he's my age IRL so it's really not weird haha".
Another Friends fanatic said they didn't know whether Cole, or his twin brother Dylan Sprouse, portrayed Ben. "For weeks I've been wondering whether it was Dylan or Cole, so thank you for this post".
On the other hand, some fans were shocked by the number of people who recognised Cole from the classic Disney Channel series The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and its spin-off, The Suite Life on Deck.

A Reddit user posted: "Shows your age when you see him as from suite life of Zack and Cody instead...."
While someone else responded with a reference to the 1999 Adam Sandler film Big Daddy, in which both Dylan and Cole played Julian: "I think it shows my age when I'm the opposite of this title. Anytime I see the Sprouse boys I always think 'it's Ben!' Or think of Big Daddy. I know someone below said that movie doesn't count, but I watched it soooo much growing up."
Although it's common for young twins to take turns playing the same role on television and in the films, such as Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen in Full House, only Cole played Ben.

Cole celebrated the 25th anniversary of Friends in September 2019 in a post shared by the official Friends Instagram account. Cole is seen sitting on the iconic Friends sofa alongside Huggsy, Joey's (Matt LeBlanc) cuddly penguin.
