In TV news we didn't think we'd be writing about, Chandler Bing has been voted the best character in Friends.

According to a poll by Ranker.com, the sarcastic character is our favourite 'Friend' of all time, and it's not hard to see why.

Witty Chandler is known for his hilarious comebacks and topped the list with a huge amount of votes by fans of the show.

Played by Matthew Perry, Chandler was voted our favourite character with a huge 10,368 votes, closely followed by Joey Tribbiani (played by Matt LeBlanc) in second place and Ross Geller (David Schwimmer) in third place.

Perhaps most surprisingly, however, is that Mike Hannigan (Paul Rudd) actually came in fourth in the popular poll, beating half of the OG cast to one of the top spots.

Fans of the show first met Mike, who only appeared in 18 episodes, in season nine when he became Phoebe's love interest. The two later married in the 10th season.

The girls - Rachel Green, Monica Geller and Phoebe Buffay - didn't fare so well in the poll, coming in at fifth, sixth and seventh place respectively.

Meanwhile, Ross and Monica's Dad, Jack Geller, came in eighth, but their Mum, Judy Geller, came in way down at number 30.

It seems Friends viewers aren't fans of Judy!

'Friends' ran for 10 seasons, from 1994 to 2004 (

Chandler's on-off girlfriend Janice made it to number nine on the list, while everyone's favourite coffee shop owner, Gunther, was voted our 10th favourite Friends character.

Other memorable characters such as Monica's ex-boyfriend, Richard, Ross's son, Ben, and Ross and Rachel's daughter, Emma, ranked in the top 20; while Brad Pitt's cameo appearance as Ross's friend, Will Colbert, clearly made an impression on fans, as he came in at number 20.

The popular sitcom, which ran for 10 years from 1994, is a staple of Nineties/early 2000s TV and featured a group of twenty-somethings as they navigated life in New York.

From Chandler and Monica's hookup and eventual marriage, to Ross and Rachel's on-off relationship, we watched as the six friends grew over the course of 10 seasons, falling in love, changing careers and having children.

The full list of characters can be found here. Friends seasons 1-10 are available to stream on Netflix.
