After 365 DNI landed on Netflix, people were left weak at the knees.
Dubbed "dirtier than Fifty Shades of Grey" the polish film - based on author Blanka Lipinska's novel of the same name - is an erotic romantic drama following the rather, ahem, subversive relationship between Laura Biel (Anna Maria Sieklucka) and Massimo Torricelli (Michele Morrone).
In case you need a reminder of what goes down, Sicilian mafia gangster Massimo kidnaps Laura while she's on a trip to Italy to save her relationship, and gives her 365 days to fall in love with him.

The mob boss promises not to touch Laura during this time, but nonetheless manages to coerce her into a *hell* of a lot of BDSM, foreplay and eventually sex.
As un-romantic as this all sounds, Laura eventually gives in and confesses her love before the year is even up (sigh). But the drama has only just begun, and some unwanted attention from a rival mafia member ends up causing a war between the two clans.
The first film ends with Laura and Massimo getting engaged.

However, just when it looks like the pair are going to have their happily ever after (if you can even call it that?!) Massimo learns that the rival gang are looking to kill Laura, and the film ends with her entering a tunnel in a car, and failing to emerge from the other side...
So, is Laura dead? What happens next? While the ending of the film is certainly meant to leave you guessing, there are actually two more books from Lipinska, so we can tell you all the tea...
*If you don't want potential sequel spoilers then look away NOW!!!*
Now, the first thing you'll be pleased to hear is that, in Lipinska's books, we haven't seen the last of Laura.

In the second book - named Ten Dzeiń (which means This Day) - Massimo starts off by rescuing his now pregnant girlfriend before they start a new fairy tale life: marrying and living in absolute luxury.
Things are looking pretty perfect, but the rival mob are still on the pair's tail, and it's not long before a Laura is in danger again.
She gets kidnapped again (poor woman), this time, by a mobster named Marcelo "Nacho" Matos.
But, believe it or not, it isn't long before she starts to develop feelings for him instead.
At the end of the book, a desperate Massimo fights for Laura and wins her back, but she ends up hurt in the process.

The third book - Kolejne 365 DNI (or Another 365 Days) - sees Massimo forced to pick between saving her or their child, picking her and misleading her into thinking she lost the baby naturally.
As the couple try to get back to normal, things simply appear to be broken beyond repair, and they're both scarred from the loss, and the ordeal that they've been through.
Oh, and amongst all the drama there's lots of sex, too. Lots and lots of sex (we don't know how they find the time!)...
As much as many people would love to see more from the Marrone and Sieklucka, there's currently no confirmation from production that a sequel is going ahead.

However, given the success of the movie when it first aired in Poland and the current Netflix storm it's causing, we would be very surprised if we didn't see them back on our screens.
We'll update you as soon as we know more!
