Channing Tatum Confirms 'Magic Mike' Is Coming To Broadway

Channing Tatum just confirmed that Magic Mike is getting the Broadway treatment.

That's right, following the success of the live shows (which recently made its UK debut) Magic Mike is Broadway-bound.

The musical will be premiering at the Emerson Colonial Theatre in Boston later this year starting on 30th November. While it might feel like a while away, you can already buy tickets and start planning your adventure to the States.

Actor Channing shared the exciting musical news with fans on social media on Thursday.

Sharing a picture of the Magic Mike playbill inside the theatre to his Instagram feed, Channing posted: "This. Is. Happening. Get ready for Magic Mike... THE BROADWAY MUSICAL. World premiere at the @EmersonColonial Theatre in Boston this November. Tickets on sale TODAY."

Castings are being kept under wraps, and it's unclear whether Channing will be taking to the stage himself.

The 2012 film Magic Mike and 2015 sequel Magic Mike XXL were in-part inspired by Channing's own journey while working as a stripper in Tampa, Florida at the start of his career.

Since the two flicks, the Step Up actor went on to open Magic Mike Live, although didn't star in it himself - the live show hit London this November.

And this new musical will be a prequel to the hit movies, telling how a 'stripping sensation' first found his passion.

The newly-launched website for the musical reads: "Boston's pre-Broadway tradition just got buffer! Get ready for the must-see (and will-see) event of a lifetime, because Magic Mike is taking over a new kind of stage... and you can get the very first peek.

"You read that right: the outrageous new musical MAGIC MIKE is making its world premiere at the Emerson Colonial Theatre before heading to Broadway.

"A prequel to the hit movies Magic Mike and Magic Mike XXL, this sizzling stage spectacle tells the story of how the world's favorite stripping sensation first found his mojo. Brought to life by a flawless company of mind-blowingly talented performers, it's wildly fun, ridiculously sexy... and pretty much the reason live theater was invented [sic]."
