A Bridgerton actor has explained why sex scenes in season two are 'more forbidden' than season one.

Adoja Andoh, who plays Lady Danbury in the Netflix series, recently appeared on Loose Women to talk about the second instalment of the period drama - and the presenters couldn't resist asking about what steamy scenes lie ahead in the series.

After being asked about the supposed reduction of sex scenes in the second season, Adoja explained: "I think last season's nookie was architecturally graphic in many respects.

"You know there was some of us when we got to episode six, or episode sex as it was called it in my house, we'd be going, 'right I can go and put the kettle on now!'"

She then went on to explain the difference between the saucy moments in seasons one and two.

"So it's differently sexy this season. It's sort of sensuous and a lot more forbidden," Andoh explained.

"So when you do get the climax, you get the climax!"

Presenter Katie Piper OBE then asked the actor whether Bridgerton fans will see Lady Danbury experiencing any romance of her own in the second season.

Andoh replied: "Oh my God, I would love Lady Danbury to have a love interest!"

"Just because you're over fifty does not mean that you don't still... you know.... the blood still heats and there are juices flowing, and we all want a bit of life and excitement," she added.

"So I would hope that's is still to come, Lady Danbury is certainly up for it!"

Andoh's discussion of the show comes as almost 40% of fans who watched the first series said they won't be tuning in after Regé-Jean Page's exit.

Jonathan Bailey is set to take on the lead role in the second series as the Viscount, but Page still topped the survey of viewers' favourite Bridgerton characters, according to Betfair.
