Father-of-12 Nick Cannon says he regrets not having a child with ex Christina Milian

Father-of-12 Nick Cannon says he regrets not having a child with ex Christina Milian

Cannon said the pair had spoken about having kids

Nick Cannon has done a very good job of making sure he has a big family, but he's admitted that if he could go back in time there's one woman he'd love to have had contribute to it.

Cannon, 42, shares an impressive 12 children with six different women, ranging from his eldest, 11-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, to his youngest; three-month-old Halo Marie.

He shares the children with various former partners, but one ex he never welcomed a baby with was his former co-star, Christina Milian.

Cannon and Milian dated for two years in the early noughties, but decided to go their separate ways in 2005. She's welcomed three kids since their split, including two with husband Matt Pokora.

Milian welcomed her first child, Violet, in 2010 with her then-husband, rapper The-Dream. But while a pregnancy is usually something to celebrate, Cannon has admitted that he wasn't completely over the moon at the news of his co-star's growing family.

During an appearance on The Shade Room, the TV presenter was asked if there were any of his old flames that he wishes he'd had children with.

"Everybody talks about having kids," he said as he thought back on his relationships, but he reflected specifically on Christina Milian, with who he'd worked on the 2003 comedy Love Don't Cost a Thing.

"I remember when I found out she was pregnant, I was like, ‘Dang, man'," he admitted.

Agreeing that he was thinking it 'could have been him', he went on to insist he was 'so happy for her'.

"I remember... we were kids in love early on, and so we talked about that, but to each his own," Cannon said, but evidently things just weren't meant to be for the pair.

"Life plans it out," he said. "The universe gives it how it's supposed to be given."

Cannon's comments on the way his relationship with Milian panned out echo what he told Entertainment Tonight when asked about his seemingly ever-growing brood.

When asked if he was 'done' having children, Cannon responded: "God decides when we’re done, but I believe I definitely got my hands full. And I’m so focused. I’m locked in. But when I’m 85, you never know. I might."

Cannon welcomed his youngest child with Alyssa Scott in December 2022, one year after their son, Zen, passed away after being diagnosed with brain cancer. He also has children with ex-wife Mariah Carey; Brittany Bell; Abby De La Rosa; Bre Tiesi and LaNisha Cole.
