Fans Think Another Celebrity Should Have Played Barbie

Over the last few months, fans have had a glimpse of Ryan Gosling playing Ken in the new Barbie movie, and Margot Robbie as Barbie herself.

But not everyone is happy with the casting for the hotly anticipated film, set for release next year.

In a first-look photo of Barbie, Robbie can be seen sitting in her Barbie-pink convertible dressed all in blue with a matching headband and bracelet.

Meanwhile, in separate shots of Robbie and Gosling filming, the 32-year-old can be seen dressed in a fluorescent leotard and cycling shorts as the pair roller-skate around a beach.

While many fans are in agreement that Robbie looks fab as Barbie, others believe a different actor should have been cast - specifically, Amanda Seyfried.

Writing on Twitter, one person said: "I can't stay silent any longer... wish amanda seyfried was barbie."

While another said: "Someone said Amanda Seyfried as Barbie and now I’m thinking."

And a third added: "As much as I love margot robbie, I gotta agree amanda seyfried would be such a perfect barbie."

And a fourth wrote: "I may be alone here... But, I think Amanda Seyfried and Zac Efron would make the perfect people to play Barbie and Ken."

Others totally disagreed, however, with one commenting: "I LOVE Margot Robbie as Barbie... Love Amanda seyfried too but don’t do my girl Margot like this."

While another said: "Margot robbie is the perfect casting for barbie!!"

And a third added: "I still can’t get over how perfect Margot Robbie is as Barbie."

"I’m SO excited, margot robbie looks so good and is the perfect actress as barbie!" said another.

Last month, we told you how some fans were left unimpressed with the casting of Ken, too.

In a first-look photo, Gosling has had a serious Ken makeover, with bleached blonde hair, a glowing – and slightly orange – tan and a sleeveless denim jacket showing off Ken-doll abs beneath.

Posing next to a bright Barbie-pink pillar, Gosling is also wearing light wash denim jeans with 'Ken'-scribed underwear slightly on show.

While he certainly looks the part, some believe Zac Efron could have been a better fit, with one adding: "I’m sorry, I love Ryan Gosling as much as the next girl. But Zac Efron has been living his life as a Ken doll since his Troy Bolton days. The man CRIED when he got to eat carbs for the first time in 6 years. That’s my Ken."

Others totally disagreed, however, with one adding: "Ryan Gosling as Ken in #Barbie is actually perfect."
