Kim Kardashian has joined the cast of ‘American Horror Story’ Season 12

In a crossover we never knew we needed, Kim Kardashian has joined the cast of American Horror Story.

The long-running anthology series is known for adding new faces each time it shifts stories, locations and characters, but fans probably never expected the reality TV star and businesswoman to be among those who would pop up in the show.

Kim isn't exactly known for her acting, but she has racked up credits in a few fictional titles including PAW Patrol: The Movie, How I Met Your Mother, Oceans Eight and 30 Rock.

More recently she's appeared in Disney's reality TV show The Kardashians, but today (10 April) she caught fans completely off guard with an Instagram post announcing her involvement in the upcoming 12th season of American Horror Story.

Kim shared a teaser video which announced that she'd be appearing in the new season alongside Emma Roberts, who is one of the few actors to reappear throughout the numerous American Horror Story seasons.

Kim kept things very cryptic as she only used emojis to caption her post, featuring the two side-eyes and a drop of blood.

Emma went a bit further in a post of her own, alluding to the name of the upcoming season as she shared the same video and wrote: "This summer… Kim and I are DELICATE."

It's not yet clear exactly what role Kim will play in the horror anthology series, but according to The Hollywood Reporter

the new episodes will be based at least in part on Danielle Valentine’s upcoming novel Delicate Condition, which is set to be released in August.

The novel is described as a thriller about a woman who becomes convinced that a sinister figure is going to great lengths to make sure she never gets pregnant.

While we don't yet know the details of Kim's character, it's safe to say fans are excited.

"This is the 2023 plot twist I didn’t see coming!!!!!!" one of the reality TV star's followers wrote, while another simply commented: "KIM IN AMERICAN HORROR STORY? OMG."

Ryan Murphy, who co-created the show with Brad Falchuck, celebrated the news of Kim's involvement as he told The Hollywood Reporter: “Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family.

"Emma and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture. Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done.”
