The bond between pet owners and their cats is unbreakable and after having a baby, Jennifer Lawrence faced quite a big dilemma.

The Academy Award-winning actor recently opened up about motherhood and joked she had concerns about whether she could love her baby as much as her cat.

Jennifer welcomed her first child – a son named Cy – in February with her husband Cooke Maroney.

In an interview with Vogue in which she spoke about motherhood, the 32-year-old shared a story about a deep conversation she had with her friends before she gave birth to Cy.

“I remember walking with one of my best friends at, like, nine months, and being like, ‘Everyone keeps saying that I will love my baby more than my cat. But that’s not true. Maybe I’ll love him as much as my cat?’”

The Don’t Look Up actor went on to gush about falling in love with her son straight away and how she is now in love ‘with all babies everywhere’.

She added: “The morning after I gave birth, I felt like my whole life had started over. Like, ‘Now is day one of my life.’ I just stared. I was just so in love.

“I also fell in love with all babies everywhere,” she said. “Newborns are just so amazing. They’re these pink, swollen, fragile little survivors. Now I love all babies. Now I hear a baby crying in a restaurant and I’m like, ‘Awwww, preciousssss.’”

Jennifer and Cooke were first linked in 2018 before exchanging vows the following year. Silver Linings Playbook actor Jennifer previously dated Coldplay's Chris Martin, actor Nicholas Hoult and director Darren Aronofsky with whom she worked with on the controversial film Mother!

Famous guests at their wedding included Emma Stone, Cameron Diaz, Adele, Kris Jenner, Amy Schumer and Sienna Miller.

Despite their lavish Rhode Island ceremony, Lawrence and Maroney managed to keep the star-studded bash relatively under wraps.

The acclaimed actor is also a cat lover.

The couple are notoriously private and Jennifer shared her son’s moniker six months after his arrival.

He is named after Cy Twombly, who is one of Maroney’s favourite artists.

Jennifer’s next film, Causeway, will have its premiere at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival on Saturday, 10 September.

It is a psychological thriller about an Afghanistan vet who returns to her hometown after suffering a traumatic brain injury.

The film was produced by Jennifer’s Excellent Cadaver production company, which she founded in 2018.

Fans will be able to watch Causeway on Apple TV+ from 4 November.
