It's been almost 22 years since the first Harry Potter film aired back in 2001 (yes, we feel old just saying that), but the popularity of the franchise has never waned.
Now, fans are looking back on the personal lives of the actors and one almost-forgotten romance that began on the set of The Deathly Hallows Part 1 back in 2010.
The romance in question was between Ginny Weasley actor Bonnie Wright, now 31, who actually got engaged to teenage Gellert Grindelwald actor Jamie Campbell Bower, 34.

The pair hit it off on the set of the penultimate film in 2010 and later that year they confirmed that they were very much a couple.
Despite being very young at the time, they were clearly committed to each other and it wasn't long before it was rumoured that they were actually engaged.
This was confirmed just months after news of their romance broke when Jamie told The Daily in April 2011: "I am engaged. I'm very happy. It’s a wonderful, wonderful time."
Unfortunately, however, the pair's whirlwind romance was not to last and they broke up in June 2012.
Following the split, Jamie went on to date Lily Collins on and off until 2018 before meeting his current partner, Jess Moloney, in 2021.

Bonnie, meanwhile, dated Andrew Lococo for some time before confirming that the pair had tied the knot in March of last year.
As you can imagine, Jamie and Bonnie's romance was naturally lost to the history books, which is why fans were so shocked when news of it began to circulate again.
One shocked fan wrote on Twitter: "HOW HAVE I ONLY JUST FOUND OUT THAT JAMIE CAMPBELL BOWER WAS ENGAGED TO GINNY WEASLEY OMG [sic]."
"I just found out that Jamie was engaged to the actress that played Ginny Weasely in HP," added a second.

Referring to one of Jamie's more recent roles in Stranger Things, a third remarked: "just learned that ginny weasley and vecna were once engaged [sic]."
"So no one was gonna tell me that Jamie Campbell Bower and Bonnie Wright dated for 3 years???? [sic]" wrote a fourth while a fifth added: "Wait Jamie Campbell Bower dated bonnie wright????? Omg [sic]."
Needless to say, with so many young actors on the set of the Harry Potter films, Bonnie and Jamie weren't the only pair to strike up a romance.

Luna Lovegood actress Evanna Lynch, now 31, also dated Robbie Jarvis, 36, who played a young James Potter, for a whopping nine years - and they apparently remain close friends.
It looks like there really was some magic on the set of Harry Potter, after all.
