A$AP Rocky Reveals How The Teletubbies Shaped His View Of Fatherhood

The 'Fashion Killa' rapper, who is starting a family with Rihanna, has revealed the type of father he wants to be.

A$AP Rocky has revealed the type of dad he wants to be – by revealing how the Teletubbies have shaped his view of fatherhood.

The 'Praise the Lord' rapper and Rihanna, the pop superstar and cosmetics entrepreneur, are said to have welcomed a son earlier this month.

While fans await the couple's official announcement and a first look at their bundle of joy, A$AP Rocky spoke to Dazed about how he envisions himself as a father.

A$AP Rocky and Rihanna began dating in 2020.

In what may come as a huge surprise to his fans, the rapper – whose real name is Rakim Mayers – said the colourful characters with antennas on their heads and televisions on their tummies are a source of inspiration.

"I will always remind my children to never lose their imagination, even as adults, no matter what," he told the publication.

"I actually love to watch cartoons – I’ve watched like, Teletubbies, Blue’s Clues, Yo Gabba Gabba, Peppa Pig and Baby Shark.

A$AP Rocky revealed how the Teletubbies have inspired him.

He also explained the principles he hopes to instil in his child: "I hope to raise open-minded children. Not people who discriminate. And I’m not trying to describe a saint, but realistically, I just want a cool child with cool parents."

TMZ previously reported that Ri and A$AP Rocky had welcomed their first child on 13 May.

The 'Needed Me' singer has been praised by women for transforming maternity wear by wearing clothes which exposed her growing baby bump.
